If you live with family, you can fully delegate a some of your freelance tasks to other in the household. Don’t go overboard, unless you want to pay for the services your partner and children are working on. But it is fair to expect a little help to keep things going.

Here are some tasks you can delegate:

For the Business

  • Mailing packages and letters.

  • Making photo copies.

  • Filing tasks.

  • Emptying the trash can, sweeping the floor.

  • Sending faxes.

  • Making shopping lists.

  • Shopping trips.

Within the Home

  • Getting breakfast ready for everyone.

  • Washing the dinner dishes.

  • Putting away of each persons’ own laundry.

  • Watching younger siblings for an hour after school.

Outside the Home

  • Grocery shopping.

  • Picking up children from school or daycare.

  • Yard work.

As you can see, there is a lot that people can do to help you.

Hello. My name is Shannon, and I'm a single mother of two young adult daughters, and Memay to one precious Little Man. I work as a writer from my home in Orono, Maine, and as a Front Desk Agent at an inn. Writing is my life, second only to my daughters. I enjoy writing nonfiction, as well as fiction in a number of genres. At some point, I would like to travel. It would be a true writing adventure.
