As freelancers, we are not always in touch with our most creative sides. It is sometimes fun to break away from the norm and do something new, so why not try to get more creative over the next few weeks by writing a short story. Or a novelette. Or a novella. Heck, you could even start an entire novel.

Not sure what to write about? I have plenty of ideas that will be of interest:

Do not worry about whether anyone else will like your story, or even get
the meaning of it. You will never have to show anyone or have it
published unless you want to.

Experiment. I wrote a story a while back based on a strange dream I had. When it was done I didn’t think anyone would even read it. It was an odd one.
However, I bit the bullet and published it. People actually like it. You

 Happy writing!

About Shannon L. Buck

Hello. My name is Shannon, and I'm a single mother of two young adult daughters, and Memay to one precious Little Man. I work as a writer from my home in Orono, Maine, and as a Front Desk Agent at an inn. Writing is my life, second only to my daughters. I enjoy writing nonfiction, as well as fiction in a number of genres. At some point, I would like to travel. It would be a true writing adventure.
